Taking the RAFA Top Flight Challenge to it's limit, cadets and staff from 60 (Leek) Squadron abseiled from the tower of St Edwards Church in Leek.

Twelve members of cadets and staff took up the challenge and following extensive training, the sponsored abseil took place.
Said Officer Commanding 60 (Leek) Squadron, Flt Lt Mark White: "Our aim was to abseil as near as possible to the height of our Grob Vigilant motor glider, which is 8000ft. The tower is 68.5ft, equating to 117 descents. We did it in 3 hours."
They are still collecting in the sponsorship money and signs are that the amount raised will have been worth while the giddy heights.
